A brisk breeze gust through the deserted park. At this time of day for the past few months, the playground has always been bustling with little children and their families. But today was different. The sun had decided to hide behind the clouds and the day had traces of autumn in the air. A chilly wind was keeping everyone indoors and reaching for their sweaters.
I hate days like these where summer takes a step back to reintroduce the world to fall again. It makes me realize that summer is coming to an end and before long, autumn will envelop our little towns in vibrant leaves and crisp air. Of course, summer hasn’t said goodbye yet but it still makes me sad that fall is just around the corner. In the mean time, I will soak up as much sun as I can and cherish the moments of summer that is left.
Anyway, this is my last post until September 7.
I’m leaving for college on Saturday and I want to get adjusted to the new college life without trying to keep up with a blog. I can honestly say that I will miss chatting with you all for the next couple of weeks.
In the mean time, feel free to follow me on Instagram @oliviamonopoli to keep up with the latest. (Let me know if you did so I can do the same!)
Other than that, I’ll see you in September with some fun posts ahead!
I don’t know why but I think I dresssed like Taylor Swift in these pictures. Like an Asian Taylor or something. The red stripes and red lipstick makes me want to jam out to her song Red (which, I am actually doing). People hate on Taylor but I have no idea why. All of her albums are on my iPod, even the ones during her youngling country phase. As a country song despiser, I think that’s saying a lot. And literally every time I see a picture of her, I get insanely jealous. Not just because of the fact that she is insanely tall and she should donate some inches to the needy (me). But because she has this most perfectest perfect style. Like whoever her stylist is, please adopt me also! 😛
Celebration Comment Topic: Pick any of the previous questions this week! What decade would you go shopping in, what decade would you say influences your style the most, and which previous trend would you stop if you could?
Mother M and I were going to take a mother-daughter trip up to a small town west of our home. It is the kind of place with that cute main street full of cafes and shops and boutiques and stuff. There is this one café in particular-The River Rose- that is absolutely delicious and perfect for my savory taste palette. Unfortunately, it’s also one of those cafes that are open only until a certain time of day that doesn’t work with the usual working schedule. In this case, it was 3:30. And we were about to head out at 3:00. So you know what that means… Speeding down the highway at 80 mph at points (Don’t tell the police!) just for a stupid yet amazing salad and wrap. We arrived there 10 minutes to closing and I was going to take a picture for my blog but I was too busy stuffing my face. Honestly, it’s crazy what people will do for food. But so totally worth it.
Anyway, after lunch, I headed down towards the area I took pictures in my last post. Some guy was fishing in the middle of the river (my pictures were both taken on a river walk) and he kept looking at me as I was doing my pictures. But I was like, Please sir. You’re the one who is standing, waist-deep, in the middle of the state’s most polluted rivers. No judgin’.
Also a HUGE shoutout to Ashley from Southern (California) Belle for featuring me on her Inspiration: Summer Outfits post last week! I’m still smiling!
I hope everyone has a fabulous week ahead 🙂
Celebration Comments: Throwback. If you could go back in time and had the power to stop one trend from ever happening, what would that be? (i.e. shoulder pads, leg warmers, etc.)
It’s so weird to think how in less than 20 days, I will be departing on the most life-changing journey of my 18 years of existence. It’s weird to think that instead of starting my first day of school at a school that I spent my last four years at, I will be starting school at a place that will also become my new home. But boy, am I excited. I mean, just last night I had this random dance party in my room jamming out to “We Can’t Stop” by Miley Cyrus. (PS-Hated that song until it came on my Pandora station and now, I love it! It’s funny what random dance parties end up doing to you.) I totally expect to be having random dance parties with my new friends in my dorm. It’s so happening.
With that said, as leaving for school nears, that also means that summer is coming to an end. And it sucks. Mainly because I still have so many clothes to share with you all! Uhhh I love my summer wardrobe so much and I think it’s a sign that I need to live somewhere where winter isn’t 8 months of the entire year. Like, I am not looking forward to bring out the old tights and sweaters and being permanently cold anytime soon. Hopefully, after college the warmer states will be seeing more of me.
Celebration Comments: College Style. What do you think are essential pieces for a typical college student?
How awkward. The last outfit post I put up was basically a tied top, skirt, wedge heels, and a heart necklace. :0 It’s funny because they’re similar outfits but very different at the same time! I didn’t even notice until I started writing this post. Oh well!
Another thing I didn’t remember until now was that I put the same outfit a year ago on my old blog. It’s funny because I hardly had any heels to wear with the outfit so, instead, I wore my floral Keds. And now, you can hardly get me out of these wedge heels, I love them so much. In that post, I remember rambling on and on about this riddle my brother told me on a road trip. Something about a man and a question and truth and lies or something weird like that. I remember that I liked the pictures but hated how I went on this random rambling for my writing. I look back at the pictures and cringe because they weren’t even that great. I’m really happy, even though I’m on a different blog, how much I feel like I’ve improved on my blogging skills over the year. I’ve learned to use a DSLR camera, moved from the Auto option to Aperture, posted more frequently and consistently, and have connected with more people through this blog!
Agg sorry for the rambling again! It must be this outfit or something 😛
Celebration Comments Topic: College Style. If/when you were in college, how would you describe your style? Do you think it has changed since then?
