Loving Him Was Red

I don’t know why but I think I dresssed like Taylor Swift in these pictures. Like an Asian Taylor or something. The red stripes and red lipstick makes me want to jam out to her song Red (which, I am actually doing). People hate on Taylor but I have no idea why. All of her albums are on my iPod, even the ones during her youngling country phase. As a country song despiser, I think that’s saying a lot. And literally every time I see a picture of her, I get insanely jealous. Not just because of the fact that she is insanely tall and she should donate some inches to the needy (me). But because she has this most perfectest perfect style. Like whoever her stylist is, please adopt me also! 😛

A Race Against Time in a Dress

Mother M and I were going to take a mother-daughter trip up to a small town west of our home. It is the kind of place with that cute main street full of cafes and shops and boutiques and stuff. There is this one café in particular-The River Rose- that is absolutely delicious and perfect for my savory taste palette. Unfortunately, it’s also one of those cafes that are open only until a certain time of day that doesn’t work with the usual working schedule. In this case, it was 3:30. And we were about to head out at 3:00. So you know what that means… Speeding down the highway at 80 mph at points (Don’t tell the police!) just for a stupid yet amazing salad and wrap. We arrived there 10 minutes to closing and I was going to take a picture for my blog but I was too busy stuffing my face. Honestly, it’s crazy what people will do for food. But so totally worth it.

Anyway, after lunch, I headed down towards the area I took pictures in my last post. Some guy was fishing in the middle of the river (my pictures were both taken on a river walk) and he kept looking at me as I was doing my pictures. But I was like, Please sir. You’re the one who is standing, waist-deep, in the middle of the state’s most polluted rivers. No judgin’.

Also a HUGE shoutout to Ashley from Southern (California) Belle for featuring me on her Inspiration: Summer Outfits post last week! I’m still smiling!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week ahead 🙂

Love, Olivia

Celebration Comments: Throwback. If you could go back in time and had the power to stop one trend from ever happening, what would that be? (i.e. shoulder pads, leg warmers, etc.)

Floppy Hat and Graduation Dress

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted a yellow dress to wear to graduation. Yellow seemed like a suitable color to begin my departure of being a green and gold bear. But it was a day before my graduation ceremony and no yellow dress. I guess a sensible person would have gotten into her car and headed to the mall to find that dream dress. But I like to do things the hard way and instead, I got into my car and headed to Jo Ann Fabrics. And *technically* for my last day as a high school student, I spent it behind my sewing machine making a yellow floral dress. It’s funny because after all that work, no one could actually see my dress under my robe. Oooh well! On the plus side, I came out with a pretty dress in a gorgeous floral yellow that has gotten a lot of use!

Anyway, my sincerest apologizes to all as I have been out of town. I’m a little behind on a few posts and commenting. But I’m on my way to getting caught up! I should be A-Ok by the end of the week! Hang tight:)

Love, Olivia

PS-For the people who I’ve recently commented on, I’ve been adding weird sign offs. Some of my favorites have been: “Here’s to always having loving ways and perfect days”, “Yours Until The Hersheys’s Kisses”, and “May the god of dance smile upon your feet”. No reason except a way to make commenting a little less tedious:P

I know I haven’t posted about last week’s celebration comments but they’ll be up tomorrow. In the mean time, if anyone wants to comment on this week’s topic it is:

The Floral Retro

It was the bright colors that caught my eye. I was just cruising the TJ Maxx dress racks and I came across this beautiful floral dress. The skirt was long and fuller. And there was a cutout in the back! The dress kind of reminded me of something girls would wear in The Help… minus the cutout. I mean, yeah, those girls were pretty infuriating but boy did they have a fabulous wardrobe!

I remember wearing this dress when I had to do my French Polynesian presentation…spoken all in French :0! I figured since it was basically a tropical paradise of sunny days and beaches, the bright florals of the dress were perfect for the presentation.

Anyway, in case you missed last post’s announcement, I’m starting a weekly post series called Celebration Comments. Each week there will be a topic presented and the top five comments will be shown along with a name and link to your blog!

This week’s topic: Comments! What kind of comments do you write and what kind of comments do you receive on your blog?

Flutter Sleeves and Birds

I got this dress at the very beginning of the year and have never worn it until now. It was the last day of summer and to celebrate the beginning of senior year, I bought two dresses including this one. I loved the style with the flutter sleeves and the bird pattern (because who doesn’t like animal patterns?) but the back needed to be taken in a touch. Unfortunately,  the dress got hidden away in the mending pile for the remainder of the school year. When I found it a couple weeks ago, I was a little bummed that it had been forgotten. But thankfully, this dress is so versatile with the seasons that one would wear it in the spring as shown here or in the fall and winter with colorful tights! So even though this is the first time I’ve ever worn it, I plan to do so many times after!  🙂

I am also happy to share that I have just become a Lucky Contributor! And to be perfectly honest, I’m so totally confused… So if anyone wants to give me the low-down on this whole business, I would much appreciate it! Merci merci:)

Also, just finished making a June calendar for the month and I have so many ideas to share with you! I can’t wait! I hope every one has a great weekend and be sure to visit my Lucky Contributor profile page.
